Step By Step, Making of a Small,Clutch sized Rag Bag Out of a Pair of Pants!

My husbands well-loved black suit had seen better days, so after a good washing, it is now a really cute little black purse!

Here it is, upside down, showing the little button closure....

And here's the pair of pants!
First I cut them up, saving the zipper, waistband with buttons, lining fabric, pockets, etc. Who knows what wonderful things they could be made into? :)
Then, I took the pant legs, folded them in half, and cut of the sides with the seams, (saving them in the scrap box).
Next, cut the fabric into strips! I did about a little less than and inch wide. I think next time I'll go a little narrower, because it was kind of hard to crochet with! Got my hand and finger exercise!
Then I had a nice pile of fabric strips to work with! As I worked, I joined them together by making a slit in the top of each strip, and inserting the new strip into the previous one, and doing sort of a slip knot to join the two pretty seamlessly. I tried to take pictures of the process, but I'll have to do it with a lighter color, because black was not really showing what was going on very well!
So, here is the bag in the process....

And, here is the finished bag! I love how it turned out kind of "fuzzy"!

These are fabric roses and leaves made from a dress shirt, and another well used shirt.
So, that's the latest addition to my Etsy Shop, Upcycle Crochet! Here's the link to see it in all it's glory, (and several different poses! :)  https://www.etsy.com/listing/123743289/little-black-purseclutchevening-bag-w
