                             Beautiful Buttons, Thanks to Freecycle!

Last night as I was looking at my emails, I saw a posting from our local Freecycle group offering a tin full of buttons! Fortunately, they were still available, and I was able to pick them up this morning. Here they are, organized in a egg carton from my Costco organic eggs : ).

When I first got them home, they were a little dusty, so I washed them off and laid them out to dry, as you can see here-----

There's quite a few white and off white, still have to sort through those!
And, there was also a few packs of sequins, snaps, and some other notions.
And, this thing! It's made of glass, anyone know what it is? My husband says it looks like a bottle stopper.
These are some of the papers that the buttons were attached to. I think some of the buttons must be 50 or 60 years old! There are some really beautiful glass ones in there.
So, that was my little find for today! Looking forward to using these as embellishments on future projects. It's nice to know that we can reduce waste by using things that are already around.
